Job Title: Handyman

Area: West Kent – Travel to various locations required

Rate: Dependent on experience, qualifications and skill set.

We are looking for a Handyman who is proficient in a variety of tasks related to Maintenance & repair work to join our Estates team based in West Kent. This role addresses a range of issues in residential (Supported Living) & Commercial settings. Here are some of the responsibilities associated with the role:

General Repairs

  • Addressing minor plumbing issues, such as fixing leaks or unclogging drains.

  • Repairing or replacing damaged fixtures, such as faucets, switches, or outlets.

  • Repairing or maintaining outdoor structures, such as fences or decks.

Carpentry:

  • Performing basic carpentry work, such as repairing or installing shelves, cabinets, or furniture.

  • Fixing or replacing damaged doors, windows, or moulding.

Painting and Decorating:

  • Painting walls, ceilings, and other surfaces.

  • Assisting with wallpapering or other decorative finishes.

Electrical Work:

  • Handling minor electrical repairs, like replacing switches, outlets, or light fixtures.

  • Troubleshooting and fixing simple electrical issues.

Plumbing:

  • Fixing leaky faucets, pipes, or toilets.

  • Installing or repairing plumbing fixtures.

Drywall Repair:

  • Patching and repairing drywall or plaster.

  • Addressing holes, cracks, or other damage.

Gardening and Outdoor Maintenance:

  • Lawn care, including mowing, weeding, and basic landscaping.

  • Repairing or maintaining outdoor structures, such as fences or decks.

Assembling Furniture:

  • Putting together furniture items and ensuring they are correctly assembled.

  • Disassembling furniture for moving or storage.

Emergency Repairs:

  • Responding to urgent or emergency repair needs promptly.

  • Securing or fixing issues that could pose safety hazards.

Routine Maintenance:

  • Conducting routine checks and preventive maintenance to identify and address potential issues before they become major problems.

  • Keeping records of maintenance activities and schedules.
