The Service:
Hopyard Dickley Everyday Life Activities Centre is committed to providing fun, exciting, hands-on, and engaging activities for our fantastic group of clients. We are committed to developing independence, providing bespoken person-centered care and support, and supporting the development of everyday life skills, and of course having fun! We are seeking someone to work alongside our management team to assist with the day-to-day running of this much-loved service.
The Role:
As Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in supporting clients, leading by example to motivate staff, and ensure the Hopyard day is fun filled, engaging and purposeful. Key responsibilities include:
Working alongside the Hopyard management team to complete registers, creating and updating client care and support plans, passing on relevant and necessary information including client absences, organising rotas and cover, planning activities, then creating and sharing daily shift planners with the team, identifying training opportunities to ensure the staff team remain compliant, arranging regular staff team meetings and setting team agendas, auditing service stock levels and ordering items with Head Office as necessary, reporting maintenance requests timely.
Leading the dedicated Hopyard Dickley staff team to ensure all daily tasks are completed to a high standard.
Demonstrate excellent skills, knowledge, and practical experience in providing bespoke and personalised care and support for clients with learning and other disabilities.
Must be committed to and demonstrate the Symbol core values.
Maintaining the Hopyard Dickley environment to ensure it is ready for the day ahead, including delegating daily cleaning responsibilities.
Engaging clients in fun and stimulating activities, both indoors and outdoors and within the community.
Ensuring all client support needs are met such as meal preparation, hygiene, and medication management.
Must have excellent communication skills to build trusting and supportive relationships with clients, their families, parents and staff both internal and external, providing detailed handovers at the beginning at end of each day.
Complete incident reports and risk assessments when required.

Person Specification
At least one year’s experience of providing care (including personal care) and support to clients with learning and other disabilities.
At least one year’s experience running both indoor/outdoor activities
At least one year’s experience managing a team in a care environment, including managing a small staff rota
Strong organisation and prioritisation skills.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal along with strong interpersonal skills and customer focus.
Honest, trustworthy, and diligent in their approach to work.
Able to work well under pressure.
Able to positively influence and encourage others.
A Care Certificate would be desirable.
