Job Title: Senior Speech and Language Therapy Assistant

Area: The Orpheus Centre near Godstone, Surrey

Position: Part time, 3 days per week, term time only

Services: We are looking to recruit a part-time Speech and Language Therapy Support Worker to work alongside our specialist Speech & Language Therapists with young adults at The Orpheus Centre near Godstone, Surrey. You’ll work with  individuals and groups, carrying out innovative communication interventions for young people preparing for adulthood.

The Orpheus Centre is a specialist further-education college supporting young disabled adults aged 18–25. Its mission is to inspire and empower students to live fulfilling, independent lives through a blend of performing and creative arts education, life skills, and tailored support.

Rate: Starting salary: £25,600 (pro rata).

Responsibilties Include

  • Recognising and supporting the communication needs of young people, empowering them to live their best lives while working collaboratively with college staff. 

  • Delivering high-quality speech and language therapy interventions under the guidance of Speech and Language Therapists

  • Contributing to the work of the speech and language therapy team

  • Committing to personal and professional development.

You’ll be joining our friendly team of 20 Speech and Language Therapists and Support Workers who deliver innovative services across a range of settings in the South East. We actively encourage networking and sharing across our varied services.

We’d love to hear from people with a passion for supporting young disabled adults to realise their potential and who have some relevant experience—for example, in speech and language therapy services, in colleges, or through lived experience as a family member.
