Job description
We are looking for candidates to work at our Everyday Living Activities Centre which forms a crucial part of our service offering, providing meaningful, exciting, and educational activities for our clients, whilst encouraging a fun and inclusive environment based in Queenborough. (Split between Lenham & Queenborough)
We are seeking creative individuals with talents such arts, crafts, music, gardening, exercise, cooking, baking and woodwork to share with our clients.
We support around 50 clients with a range of learning disabilities. Our clients love to learn new skills, have new experiences and be creative!
Role & Responsibilities
Deliver fun/ engaging fully accessible activities and practical sessions that inspire, teach, and motivate our clients
Working with a small group of clients or on a 1:1 basis.
Sharing skills, hobbies, and interests to create engaging and accessible sessions for our clients.
Supporting clients within the community.
Work flexibly to support the needs of the clients.
Support participation of all clients within the group.
Identify ways to encourage those who are less confident or have other barriers to participation.
Support personal care and hygiene, which may include toileting.
Assist clients in accessing educational, occupational, and recreational opportunities.
Being aware of specific client requirements and having full awareness of any specialist support needs.
Administering clients’ medication, if required.
Taking responsibility for the physical and emotional well-being and social needs of the clients and making sure that clients are always treated with the utmost dignity and respect.
Experience & Suitability
Have experience working in a support capacity, ideally working with clients with learning disabilities.
Be engaging, enthusiastic and creative
Ideally, have experience running a range of activities for adult clients
Ideally, hold a driving license, and have access to your own vehicle (This is necessary for the split between role)
Have the right to work in the UK
Excellent written and spoken English
A good listener with patience
Calm, caring and compassionate nature
Level 2 NVQ Health & Social Care is desirable.
