We are looking for compassionate, motivated, and dedicated Support Workers to join our Family Assessment Centre in Newington, Kent. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting parents through day-to-day family life while contributing to professional assessments that help shape positive outcomes for children and families.

About the Role

As a Family Assessment Centre Support Worker, you will:

  • Support parents in developing practical parenting skills and routines.

  • Observe and accurately record interactions between parents and their children.

  • Assist families with daily living tasks and household management.

  • Encourage positive parenting practices and child development.

  • Promote the safety, welfare, and wellbeing of children at all times.

  • Maintain professional, factual, and detailed records and reports.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals.

  • Support families in achieving goals identified within their assessment plans.

  • Provide emotional support while maintaining professional boundaries.

  • Contribute to a safe, caring, and structured environment within the centre.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking individuals who are:

  • Excellent communicators with strong observational skills.

  • Confident in maintaining professional boundaries.

  • Organised and able to complete accurate written records.

  • Able to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.

  • Flexible and willing to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins if required.

Previous experience in a support work, childcare, social care, residential care, family support, nursery, education, or healthcare setting would be advantageous, although full training will be provided for the right candidate.

Previous experience supporting people with learning disabilities, Down syndrome, complex health needs, or behaviours of concern would be beneficial but is not essential, as full training will be provided.

Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Right to work in the UK (We do not offer Sponsorship)
