We are currently seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our Supported Living Service in Herne Bay. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to individuals with diverse needs, empowering individuals with disabilities to achieve their personal goals and lead meaningful lives. We promote a person-centered approach, focusing on the unique needs and aspirations of each individual. Our team of dedicated professionals strives to create a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone is valued and respected.
Our Service supports up to 8 adult clients with mild / moderate learning disabilities. At present, our clients have varied capabilities from predominantly independent, to fully supported. They are aged between 28 to 68 years and are all capable of communication with the right support and can let you know their needs, wants, and wishes.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide person-centered support to individuals in their daily activities, including intimate personal care, medication administration, and domestic tasks.
Assist individuals in accessing and participating in community activities, promoting social inclusion and personal development.
Support individuals in maintaining their physical and mental well-being, promoting healthy lifestyles and self-care.
Implement individual support plans, in collaboration with the service users, their families, and the wider support team.
Monitor and document individuals' progress, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records are maintained.
Collaborate with external agencies, such as healthcare professionals and social workers, to ensure coordinated care and support.
Promot independence and empowerment, encouraging individuals to develop and enhance their life skills.
Requirements:
Previous experience in a similar support worker role or a related field is preferred but not essential. We welcome applications from individuals with a genuine passion for supporting others.
A compassionate and empathetic nature, with a commitment to promoting the rights and well-being of individuals with disabilities or mental health conditions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with service users, families, and colleagues.
A flexible approach to work, including the ability to work on a rota basis, which may include evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
Basic computer literacy and the ability to maintain accurate records.
