Group Leader - Kent Friendz Fun Clubs

Kent Friendz is looking for fantastic Group Leaders who will enjoy making a difference to children with disabilities by running fun and meaningful activities at our term time Saturday Clubs and school holidays, helping to encourage learning and socialisation.

Location (s) – Tonbridge, Sevenoaks and Dartford & Gravesham
Salary – Competitive
Contract Type – Full Time and Part Time positions available

Kent Friendz Fun Clubs provide a safe environment for children with disabilities and complex health needs to have fun, learn and socialise.

You will have an energetic, outgoing personality and must enjoy working with a wide range of people. You must be sensitive to the needs of people with learning and physical disabilities and be willing to work within a framework that promotes inclusion. You must be flexible in your approach to problem solving and be able to remain calm when faced with difficult or stressful situations. You must be willing to work Saturdays in response to the needs of the project and be able to work on your own initiative.

About You
You have and show confidence in:

  • Experience of working with children (and adults) with learning and physical disabilities.

  • Experience of organising and supporting a small group of staff or volunteers.

  • Experience of organising leisure activities.

  • Experience of undertaking and documenting risk assessments

  • Good communication skills.

  • Ability to work under own initiative.

  • Full, current and clean driving licence.

  • Car owner, prepared to use it for transporting clients.

  • Experience of working as part of a small team

  • Knowledge and experience of using alternative means of communicating e.g. Makaton, BSL and picture boards.

Specialising Speech and Language Therapist – Kent – Band 6 equivalent

We are looking to recruit a part-time SALT to work with children with Down syndrome in mainstream schools in Kent.

Ideally, you will have experience of working in schools and with children with special needs, however, we will provide you with specialist training.

Initially we are looking for 1-2 days per week (potential for TTO working) but if you would like to work more days please also get in touch to discuss opportunities.
